Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with a normal karyotype (CN-AML), which accounts for 40–50% of AML cases, commonly presents with genetic mutations in ASXL1, MLL, DNMT3A, TET2, IDH1 and IDH2 genes, all of which have important roles in epigenetic regulation. Here, DNMT3A is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
