Carriers of the high COX-2 activity PTGS2 T8473C variant allele were at lower risk of CRC and homozygous carriers of the low COX-2 activity PTGS2 A-1195G variant G-allele were at marginally higher risk of CRC than the homozygous wildtype genotype (p=0.02 and p=0.07, respectively) (Table 2). Here, PTGS2 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
