The fact that LMP1 downregulates PDCD4 and Fas-L through miR-21 not only explains the low levels of PDCD4 and Fas-L observed in NPC [35,36] but also highlights the roles of PDCD4 and Fas-L in LMP1-mediated resistance to cisplatin.
