Western blot analysis confirmed that infection with 5 m.o.i. of both H7 (FPV) and H5 (KAN-1) subtype viruses resulted in the activation of p38 (Fig. 6A, middle panels, lanes 3 and 4), which occurred simultaneously with the phosphorylation of STAT1 at Ser727 (upper panels). This evidence concerns the gene MAPK1 and infection.
