The primary objective is to compare the rate of clinical cure after four weeks of IV antibiotics to early step-down to oral antibiotics in patients with Klebsiella pneumoniae liver abscess, with clinical cure determined at Week 12 post randomization, and defined as CRP < 20 mg/l, plus absence of documented fever ≥ 38°C in the preceding seven days, plus most recent abdominal imaging showing that the maximal diameter of the abscess has reduced. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and abscess.
