Overexpression of IP6K2 [14,83], accompanied by increased formation of 5PP-IP5 and a smaller increase in the amount of an uncharacterized bis-diphosphoinositol polyphosphate [14], increases the sensitivity of some ovarian carcinoma cells to radiation and IFN-β [83] and of multiple cell lines to a range of stressors [14]. The gene discussed is IFNB1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
