Previously, we and others identified miR-331-3p as a tumor suppressor miRNA that is downregulated in prostate cancer, where it mediates ErbB-2 expression and PI3K/Akt signaling [12, 13], as well as expression of deoxyhypusine hydroxylase (DOHH), an enzyme that activates eukaryotic translation initiation factor (eIF5A) and regulates cell growth [14]. The gene discussed is DOHH; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
