Although we proposed an effect of diabetes causing arginase-1 up-regulation, it is of note that in the study diabetic patients exhibited a significantly greater proportion of CAD (16 out of 20 versus 9 out of 20 patients), therefore the conclusion regarding the selective up-regulation of arginase-1 in coronary arteries of diabetic patients is severely limited. Here, ARG1 is linked to coronary artery disorder.
