In contrast to the exclusively nuclear localization observed in the normal livers of the GFP-mC control transgenic zebrafish (Figure 7A, B, the first rows), strong signals for p-erk, p-akt, myc, vegf and jnk1 were detected in both the nuclei and cytoplasm of the livers in the src-overexpressing transgenic fish (Figure 7A, B) with hyperplasia, dysplasia, HCC and sarcomatoid HCC. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
