Table 1 summarizes the baseline characteristics of these participants. Several baseline characteristics demonstrated significant between group differences. A significantly higher proportion of participants in the CAD group were men, had hypertension, had diabetes mellitus, were smokers, or took angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors compared with participants in control group (all P < 0.05). HDL concentrations were significantly lower and LDL and Hp concentrations were significantly higher in the CAD group compared with the control group (all P < 0.05). Here, HP is linked to coronary artery disorder.
