This opinion is consistent with an earlier commentary [30] which identified the metabolically benign obese to have favourable metabolic profiles, high insulin sensitivity, no hypertension, normal lipid, inflammation and hormonal profiles (low triglycerides and C-reactive protein concentrations and high HDL-C and adiponectin concentrations) making them almost indistinguishable from young lean individuals in this regard. This evidence concerns the gene INS and hypertensive disorder.
