We found that the rats displayed severe pulmonary edema and pulmonary blood–gas barrier dysfunction with significantly elevated W/D (p<0.01) and decrease in PaO2 (p<0.01), accompanied with a significantly low pro-SPC (p<0.01) protein level in rats in the post-OALT period compared with the sham group. The gene discussed is SFTPC; the disease is edema.
