Another study demonstrated that SIRT1/FoxO3a binding was enhanced in rheumatoid arthritis synovial fibroblasts and simvastatin could increase SIRT1 expression, indicating that simvastatin might be beneficial to inflammatory arthritis through its up-regulation of SIRT1/FoxO3a signaling in synovial fibroblasts [34].
