Immunohistochemical studies revealed that treatment with anti-MIF polyclonal antibody as a single dose given immediately after MI significantly reduced the density of both CD68+ macrophages and CD45+ leukocytes in the infarct region at 24 h, while macrophage infiltration at 7 days post MI was unaffected (Figure 7A-C).
