Wallace et al. define “inactive disease” as when a patient on medical therapy achieves the following criteria: (1) no joints with active arthritis, (2) no fever, rash, serositis, splenomegaly, or generalized lymphadenopathy, (3) no active uveitis, (4) normal ESR and/or C-reactive protein (CRP), and (5) physician global assessment indicates no disease activity [15]. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is uveitis.
