Therefore, this study was aimed at the evaluation of the VHL status (mutation and copy number alterations), tumor protein expression of angiogenesis-associated genes (VHL, HIF-1α, CA9, CD31, CD34, VEGFA, VEGFA165B, NRP-1, VEGFR1, -2 and 3, pVEGFR1 and -2, PDGFRα and -β, pPDGFRα and -β), known prognostic markers (Ki67 and SVV) and treatment associated adverse effects with regard to prediction of the response to sunitinib treatment.
