A subset of genes containing highly conserved miR-22 motifs in the 3’ UTR and linked to cardiomyopathy, including calmodulin binding transcription activator 2 (Camta2), Caveolin-3 (Cav3), Homer-1, and Pgc1a were confirmed as repressed in miR-22 transgenic hearts by quantitative PCR and/or immunoblot (Figure S3C-F and see below). This evidence concerns the gene CAV3 and cardiomyopathy.
