A previous study showed that SZ-685C inhibits the growth of six tumor cell lines, including human glioma, hepatoma, prostate cancer, and breast cancer (half-maximal inhibitory concentration [IC50] = 3.0–9.6 × 103 μM), and in vivo experiments showed that SZ-685C also inhibits the tumor growth in nude mice by inducing apoptosis via the Akt/FOXO pathway [13]. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is breast cancer.
