On the third postinfection day, the T2DM group had significantly higher IL-4 (mean 16.87 ± 4.96 pg/mL versus 4.13 ± 1.23 pg/mL; P = 0.022), IL-10 (mean 138.89 ± 34.62 pg/mL versus 55.49 ± 18.7 pg/mL; P = 0.046), and GM-CSF (mean 20.8 ± 5.3 pg/mL versus 5.1 ± 1.46 pg/mL; P = 0.009) levels than those of the control group. This evidence concerns the gene IL4 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
