While the intergroup difference in phosphorylated p53 expression indicated a trend towards increased levels (p = 0.07), but lacked definitive statistical significance, Bax protein expression did not differ between the groups (adjusted band densities: phospho-p53: human control, 0.56 (0.32-0.8) vs. HF, 1.9 (0.68-2.35), p = 0.07; Bax: human control, 0.56 (0.51-0.72) vs. HF, 0.61 (0.58-0.63), p = 0.5). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and hydrops fetalis.
