Brasnyó et al. [22] did not observe any difference in serum insulin values with resveratrol treatment in type 2 diabetic patients, but they noted a significant reduction in HOMA-IR values; a lack of effect of resveratrol on serum insulin values may be attributed to the very low dose of resveratrol (10 mg/day) used in their study. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
