Nair et al. (2009) found strong associations between psoriasis and other genes: IL13, which is involved in Th2 lymphocyte modulation (rs20541); TNFα interacting protein 3 (TNFAIP3) (rs610604, rs6920220, rs10499194, and rs5029939 [47, 48]) and TNFAIP3 interacting protein (TNIP1), which regulate the activity of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) [33]; IL1RN, which inhibits the activity of IL1; and HLA-C (rs12191877), which is involved in inflammatory responses [44] (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene TNIP1 and psoriasis.
