EC1-GLuc-p53C retained the ErbB2-targeting property, and the enzymatic activity of GLuc in the fusion protein was successfully applied to the bioluminescence imaging of ErbB2-overexpressing BT474 cells in vitro and xenografted BT474 tumors in vivo; moreover, when internalized into cells, the p53C peptide in the fusion protein was active and exerted anticancer activity to inhibit tumor growth.
