It has been shown that gene polymorphisms of several inflammatory factors, such as interleukin (IL)-1β [15], tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and IL-10 [16], affect levels of protein expression and are associated with an enhanced risk of developing hypochlorhydria, gastric atrophy, and gastric adenocarcinoma related to H. pylori. Here, IL10 is linked to chronic atrophic gastritis.
