Tumor necrosis factor-receptor associated periodic syndrome (TRAPS) is the most common autosomal dominant autoinflammatory disorder and is caused by mutations in the TNFRSF1A gene (12p13) encoding the 55-kD receptor for tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (TNFRSF1A) [1]. Here, TNF is linked to TNF receptor 1-associated periodic fever syndrome.
