An increased serum level of CD5L has been reported in HCV-cirrhotic compared to mild fibrosis patients by Gangadharan et al. (19), in cirrhotic and HCC patients compared to pre-cirrhotic disease related to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by Gray et al. (20), and in Kawasaki disease and atopic dermatitis (20-22). The gene discussed is CD5L; the disease is atopic eczema.
