We found that the difference in genotype distribution and allele frequency of the TGFB +869T>C polymorphism was significant between females with a diagnosis of schizophrenia and healthy controls (p = 0.018, pafter Bonfferoni correction = 0.036 and p = 0.008, pafter Bonfferoni correction = 0.016 respectively), but not between male participants (Table 2). The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is schizophrenia.
