A subtype of CAWS with a higher ratio of β-mannosyl linkages, named CAWS727, failed to cause severe vasculitis in DBA/2 mice but inhibited the inflammatory response via a competitive association with α-mannan specific lectins, including dectin-2[9]: this result indirectly demonstrated dectin-2 involvenment in the development CAWS mediated vasculitis. This evidence concerns the gene CLEC6A and vasculitis.
