Our study showed that in the peripheral blood of SLE patients, the percentages of γδ T cells that expressed intracellular IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-10, and TGF-β were all significantly increased, which was possibly due to the immunological disorder of SLE and in turn might aggravate lupus disease. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
