HRP2 levels of >0 U/mL had a MAF of 92.9% (95% CI, 83.9%–97.8%) for WHO-defined cerebral malaria; the MAF was 96.0% (95% CI, 89.5–99.2) for ≥3 U/mL, the threshold with the best combined sensitivity and specificity (Figures 2 and 3). Here, HDGFL2 is linked to cerebral malaria.
