Human pancreatic CSCs expressing high levels of CD133, CD24, CD44, ESA, and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH1) also have more abundant Nanog, Oct4, Notch1, MDR1 and ABCG2 than normal pancreatic tissues and primary pancreatic cancer cells [10–12,14,15]. This evidence concerns the gene POU5F1 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
