It is important to note that, except for one patient (case 5 in Table 5) who died because of primary pancreatic cancer, all of the adenocarcinoma patients with homozygous SNP alleles (–617A/A) in the NRF2 gene survived over 1,000 days after surgical excision of the tumor that was followed up with neither adjuvant therapy nor chemotherapy, even when p-stage I patients were considered alone (Figure 2B).
