Western blot analysis of hemolymph collected from SPCLIP1 and control LacZ kd mosquitoes challenged with E. coli bioparticles demonstrated that the loss of TEP1-F is abolished in SPCLIP1 kd mosquitoes compared to controls (Figure 3B), indicating that SPCLIP1 acts upstream of TEP1-F and is indeed required for the infection-induced loss of this protein.
