Some studies have suggested that low ERCC1 expression is associated with increased chemotherapeutic sensitivity and thus considered a predictive marker for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with platinum-based chemotherapy [16], while other studies indicated that ERCC2 SNPs were associated with poorer survival in patients with NSCLC in Chinese populations [17]. This evidence concerns the gene ERCC2 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
