Similar to the patterns of DICER protein expression levels in Dicer1 mutants, the expression levels of LIN28B and c-myc, known as oncogenes in colon tumors [28]–[30] regulated by miRNAs [29], [31] were inversely related with the number of wild-type Dicer alleles in both tumors and non-tumor parts of the colonic epithelia (Figure 5a and b and Figure S3).
