MGAT5 and neoplasm: The presence of the tumour is associated with up-regulated α1,6-mannosylglycoprotein β1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase5 (MGAT5) by 3.4-fold and several α2,3-siayltransferases that transfer α2,3-sialic acid on terminal galactose, ST3Gal1 (2,3-fold), ST3Gal3 (4.2-fold) and ST3Gal6 (3.1-fold), as well as an increase in the expression of α2,6-sialtransferase1 (ST6Gal1) by 4.4-fold (Figure 4).
