(III) Wortmannin potentiates the anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects of BMS-345541 on LPS-stimulated chondrocytes, and this correlates with downregulation of NF-κB-specific gene products that are known to mediate inflammation, degradation and apoptosis of chondrocytes in OA and RA. Here, NFKB1 is linked to rheumatoid arthritis.
