To assess the functionality of the 599/siRNA complex, two oral cancer cell lines, CAL 27 and SCC-25, were treated with the 599 peptide complexed to either siCIP2A or a siNT control at a 50∶1 P:N ratio, after which both the CIP2A mRNA and protein levels were assessed 48 hours post-treatment by real-time PCR and Western blot analyses, respectively. The gene discussed is CIP2A; the disease is lip and oral cavity carcinoma.
