An in vitro study confirmed that IFN-α and IFN-β are greatly upregulated (up to 102 fold) by poly(I:C) in chicken lung epithelial cells (CLEC213) at 24 h post stimulation, and IFN-α, not IFN-β, is highly expressed (up to 107 fold) in CLEC213 after infection with LPAIV H6N2 [46]. This evidence concerns the gene IFNB1 and infection.
