Treatment of pancreatic cancer cells with S3I-201, a small molecule that disrupts STAT3 SH2-phospho-tyrosine interactions [34], reduced STAT3 activation (Figure 5C and S3B) and significantly reduced anchorage-independent growth (Figures 5D) and cellular invasion (Figure 5E and S3C), similar to the effect of PKCζ inhibition.
