These consortia are based on early explorations of the utility of EV RNA of prostate-specific antigen (PSA), prostate cancer antigen 3 (PCA3), and the gene fusion of transmembrane protease, serine 2 and Ets-related gene (TMPRSS2: ERG) in the urine of prostate cancer patients (74); the protein claudin-4 in blood EV in ovarian cancer (75); and the epidermal growth factor receptor variant EGFRvIII in gliomas (76). This evidence concerns the gene PCA3 and prostate carcinoma.
