There were three strong biological themes: 1) genes from the HER2-amplicon (13 genes; P<1 × 10-7); 2) a broad cancer theme driven by KRAS, TP53, and EPHA5 (13 gene sets; P<0.001); and 3) an immune signature, driven by type I interferons, IFNA2, INFA6, INFA13 (7 gene sets; P < 0.001), which are involved in recognition of viral infection and neoplasia (see Additional file 7). The gene discussed is EPHA5; the disease is viral infectious disease.
