Finally, two target genes were chosen to demonstrate the divergent results, which may be obtained by normalizing their mRNAs to suitable vs. unsuitable RGs: G protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER), which has no differences in expression between benign and malignant ovarian tumours and urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR), which is up-regulated in malignant tumours. This evidence concerns the gene GPER1 and ovarian cancer.
