In summary, we demonstrated that acupuncture treatment on the LI11 meridian point is an effective means to reduce mouse dorsal skin hyperplasia and serum IgE levels in ACD, and these effects were mediated by regulating pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-4, IL-8, and TNF-α) and proteins (NF-κB and MAPKs). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and granular corneal dystrophy type II.
