In order to investigate the independent predictors of new-onset AF in AMI patients, multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed with the following factors: CHADS2 score (i.e., congestive heart failure, hypertension, age >75 years, diabetes mellitus, and prior stroke or transient ischemic attack); serum levels of CRP; LA diameter; LVEF; Killip classification; extent of CAD; in-hospital CABG; and medications (i.e., ACE inhibitors, β-blockers, and statins). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and atrial fibrillation.
