Combined search in PubMed on the terms “lung cancer” and “SOX2” retrieved 68 hits, and when excluding animal experiments, non-NSCLC-related studies, non-original articles, or lack of data on the association of SOX2 with clinicopathological features and/or overall survival and repeated data from the same population [21], [22], only 8 publications met the inclusion criteria for the present analysis (Figure 1). Here, SOX2 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
