In a study into chronic lymphocytic leukemia, miR-34a and miR-17-5p were found to be downregulated in chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients with tumor protein p53 (TP53) abnormalities, indicating that higher expression levels of miR-34a and miR-17-5p may predict a better clinical outcome for these patients [24]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
