As show in Figure 8, immunostaining sections showed strong staining of caspase-1, IL-1β and IL-18 in the renal tubule of diabetic patients whose proteinuria were about 5.21±1.863 g/24 h, as compared to the patients with mild mesangium proliferative glomerulonephritis whose proteinuria were about 0.32±0.174 g/24 h. Here, IL1B is linked to proliferative glomerulonephritis.
