Eight of the 383 nominally significant genes were found in the dental related Ingenuity annotations: PBX3, PBX1, BCOR, GLI2, SHH, DIAPH1, SOX3, and RECQL4. They are mainly related to the Ingenuity functions ‘dental development’ and ‘dental disorder’ (Table S1).Of special note, association between BCOR and pit-and-fissure surface caries has been found in a recently published GWAS in the permanent dentition [6]. The gene discussed is PBX1; the disease is tooth disorder.
