Together with the finding that epithelial c-Myc does not play an important role in lung epithelial homeostasis or repair after injury we conclude that targeting c-Myc may be a great way to treat lung diseases characterized by abnormal proliferation of smooth muscle cells, such as asthma and pulmonary arterial hypertension in which Wnt signaling plays a role [54]. This evidence concerns the gene MYC and asthma.
